Health Warning for Internet Marketing Newbies Continued
You see what you just went through is what is commonly referred to as “information overload”. It’s easy to initially become an information junkie. This addiction cycle quickly builds to the point of information overload.
Which was caused by you trying to absorb every money making program you come across to the point where your head is spinning. Leaving you feeling totally over whelmed and clueless as to exactly what you need to do to start your Internet marketing business and make money online.
Now while some of these programs may indeed be worthless, others do provide some good useful content that if followed correctly will produce positive results. However, many time these programs are too advanced for an Internet marketer newbie.
The Internet marketing field is very competitive and can be tough on newbies. This is the reason I suggest not starting off with most of these shiny get rich programs even though some are legit. Before moving on …
I need to address those of you that need to accept responsibility for your own actions, or should I say, lack of action. You know who you are … never actually implementing the program, rather you choose to sit on your butt, and cry that the program is useless and you been ripped off.
Any Internet marketing program that states you will make thousands overnight … or you don’t need to do any work … is a bunch of bull! For the truth of the matter is that initially, it will not be easy for most people as there is a learning curve and you will need to do some work.
Actually to become successful a lot of hard work is required initially. Though the good news is that most anyone who applies themselves can do it and once you have created a website that is search engine optimized (with lots of backlinks) generating a signification amount of daily traffic that is converting into sales … it is easy …
for you can make tons of money, while you business continues to bring in steady monthly monies on autopilot with little or no addition work.
And don’t forget to build a list of subscribers by putting an “optin” box on your website. For a small, but descent size list of targeted subscribers, will increase your sales significantly and you will be able to quickly make money anytime you want by simply mailing to your list!
Please note that just having an “optin” box is not enough, NO … for you need to tell your readers to subscribe and to tell them often! For best results give them a reason to sign up, by enticing them with a free report, ecourse, or some other benefit they will gain as a subscriber.
Speaking of which, those of you that haven’t signed up for my newsletter and want to learn more about list building, then fill out my optin box on the right and you will receive a free 58 page ebook on list building along with an informative list building ecourse that picks up where the book leaves off
See what I mean? … How was that for a shameless plug?
… Can’t say I don’t practice what I preach. Seriously though, I encourage you to subscribe for you will also receive useful information and special offers that won’t be available on my website.
Okay, where were we? … Oh yes … life after information overload …
At this point, in order to move forward from the painful lesson you just learned, you need to step back … relax, and regroup. Then when you are ready to re-approach this quest look for low hyped Internet marketing opportunities. Take your time and try to find someone whom you trust and feel that you can relate to … someone who provides useful information that you can follow and understand.
Now this isn’t to say you couldn’t do this on your own, for you could. The Internet provides all the free information you need to start and build a successful online business. But trust me it will take you much, much more time, money, and frustration trying to understand, organize, and then determine what works and what doesn’t from the tons of information you will acquire.
And if your not careful you’ll probably end up with information overload once again. So my advise is find a program to follow and save yourself some time and frustration, you’ll be glad you did.
I strongly recommend avoiding the shiny over-hyped promotions offering … overnight success … make thousands instantly … easy to do … no work required … fail proof, and etc..
But rather focus your attention on finding a program that will teach you good solid based Internet marketing concepts. Concepts that will provide you with the ability to build your own successful Internet marketing business. A scalable business that you will be able to grow and that will have longevity for years to come.
Once you decide which program to sign-up for, you will then need to make a commitment and dedicate a chunk of time (ideally every day) in which you apply yourself to implementing your Internet marketing plan.
It is also important that you stay focused during this established time period and ignore all the numerous distractions in your daily life (i.e. TV, surfing the net, playing games, reading forums, e-mails, chatting on the phone, social websites, and instant messengers, etc.).
By staying focused and being consistent in implementing your Internet marketing plan on a regular basis you will develop the required work routine needed to having a successful Internet marketing business.
The only other thing you will need to do is to be patient and not give up, for the truth is, though there are always exceptions, it takes the majority of Internet marketing businesses six months to a year or more before they start making some real income.
So remember, were all in this together, so keep your shiny bright object blinders on, … stay focused, … and work your chosen plan.
Till next time,
Rob
