Internet Marketing Strategies – Hype or NO Hype … that is the question

Hype is more prevalent than ever in today’s Internet marketing strategies.  I mean it’s way past overkill it’s to the point of nauseating.  And many of the IM gurus have taken it to the full extreme and teach their hype techniques in their sales pages and products.  Lending to even more regurgitated Internet marketing hype from newbie wanta bees.  I don’t know about you, but I frankly have had enough.  It’s brought me to the point of desensitization, for I no longer want to view or deal with it.

Now I know that hype strategies definitely works, hell … more than once I found myself swirling into it’s seductive lure … pulling me in … little by little … until I could no longer resist … and despite my better judgment I found myself responding to the luring calls to action … as though I had no self control … only to come to my senses later and find myself with buyers remorse … thinking what just happened … what the #$%^ did I just do … wow! … I smoked a cigarette … wondering if it was as good for them as it was for me … I’m sure it was much better for them     …

Seriously adding hype to your IM campaign can add considerable increase in sales.  However be careful with the dosage you administer, for with all the toxic over hyped campaigns being presented offering one OTO and/or up-sell after another after your customer has already committed to your initial offer 10 clicks back!  … I mean the whole experience can make one’s head spin … pushing your customers away to the point of no return.  So be sure you know your customers, so that you know when enough hype is enough, for if you don’t … well  they will leave for other waters.

And though there are new fish entering the Internet ocean everyday.  Your customers are your business’ lifeline for longevity.  They are priceless to you, for you have worked hard building a relationship of respect and trust  …  to the point where your recommendations /suggestions leads them to purchase your products.  Turning your customers off would be like shooting yourself in the foot.  So use hype in your promotions, but just keep your customers in mind, and be careful of how much you use.

Remember were all in this together, so don’t over feed your fish and keep them swimming in your pond.

Till next time,
Rob
